HCMC officially conducted a program on the collection of infrastructure charges at seaports from April 1. Revenues from the collection of fees from businesses and individuals for the use of infrastructure facilities and public services at port terminals for import-export activities will be used to improve transport infrastructure systems and investing in technology and services. Charitable activities, disaster relief, disease prevention, security and defense work will be free, the municipal transportation ministry said.
The Port Authority for Inland Navigation will be responsible for collecting fees with the support and control of the HCMC Customs Department, port and logistics companies.
